Quick Release Hinges

Functionality & Use Case:

Quick release hinges have a detachment function making them a great choice for applications where the door will often be removed. This feature also means that the hinges and application can easily be maintained. A quick release hinge will require a mechanism to be triggered in order to separate the two leaves.

Materials & Build:

Our quick release hinges are available in several materials such as Die Cast Zinc Alloy, Nylon 6 GF30, Stainless Steel 304 and 316, and Steel:

Stainless steel still 304 and 316: These offer different but both great levels  of protection against corrosion resistance and are ideal for heavy-duty applications.

Nylon 6 GF30: This is a strong and lightweight plastic that offers resistance against some chemicals and water.

This selection of materials allows us to offer you hinges with load capacities ranging from 22Kg – 1000Kg! We have this selection of materials so that you can choose a product that is suitable for your application.

Mounting & Panel Integration:

There are various mounting methods available including a range of 3-6.9mm through holes and M5-M8 threaded studs. Lift-off quick release hinges detach vertically, while quick release hinges detach laterally.

Product Variants:

Our die cast zinc alloy quick-release hinges are extremely durable and strong, with corrosion resistance against water, and a melting point of 419.5 °C.

Nylon 6 GF30 is a plastic that some of our quick-release hinges are made of. This material is resistant against moisture and chemicals, and is very strong and durable. It is susceptible to corrosion against acids and alkalis.

Steel and stainless steel have high melting points of above 1375°C, making them ideal for use in extremely hot environments.

Finishes available for our quick release hinges include: black, black powder / textured powder coated, bright chrome, polished, zinc plated.

Corrosion Resistance:

Our stainless steel 304 and 316 quick release hinges offer the most amount of resistance against corrosion and are suitable for heavy-duty outdoor environments.

Stainless steel 304 has excellent resistance against corrosion in mild environments - places that remain at a balanced temperature and do not experience extremes . Although, when exposed to temperatures above 60°C, and chloride rich environments, corrosion can occur.

Grades 304 and 316 both withstand oxidation excellently. Unlike stainless steel 304, grade 316 performs well in environments which have high amounts of chloride. This makes stainless steel 316 the more suitable option for applications in the marine, medical, and chemical processing industries.

Nylon 6 GF30 is resistant to many chemicals such as solvents and oils, and is water resistant, meaning you could choose a lightweight plastic hinge alternative for your application.

Customisation & Compatibility:

We offer many of the same quick release hinges in different materials and finishes. There are also different size options for various hinges to ensure we have the correct option for you. Locks and handles can be purchased in the same material and finish so that your application’s hardware can match and be aesthetically pleasing.
