What is Bayonet Mounting?

Bayonet mounting is a type of installation allowing for quick disconnection. It involves a ladder strip being screwed down the inside of the draw holders. This ladder strip has holes in which the clips on the bayonet slide can hook onto and hold securely in place. This means that when installed, you can easily lift the drawer slides on and off, making maintenance convenient.

Compatible Accuride Slide Models:

The following slides are compatible with the ladder strip for bayonet mounting:

Typical Applications:

Bayonet-mounted slides are commonly used in industrial equipment and original equipment manufacturer assemblies because of the ability to aid access and quickly hook on and detach from applications. Our bayonet-mounted Accuride slides have a zinc plated finish with a blue passivate coating for added resistance against corrosion.

The zinc plated finish is coated with blue passivate to form an anti-corrosive layer, making your bayonet slide suitable for a wide range of environmental conditions.

Mounting & Installation Requirements:

When installing your bayonet slide, cut the ladder strip to the suitable height that your cabinet/enclosure is. Fix the ladder strip to the application and use the hook features to clip the slide onto the strip. No special tools are required to install these slides.

Benefits of Bayonet Mounting:

Bayonet mounting is often used in industrial equipment or original equipment manufacturer assemblies because:

  • It aids the movement of heavy components and allows you to access parts safely and easily- rather than having to dangerously get inside a machine.
  • No expertise is required to attach and detach the slide, meaning you are saving time and resources with quick installation.
  • The design of this attachment will allow regular clean downs of equipment to happen efficiently- perfect for maintenance-intensive applications.

Industry & Use Cases:

One use case of bayonet-mounted slides is in lighting systems that need to be secure and quickly maintained or replaced. The light fitting may be slide mounted within an enclosure, or it could be a component of the light that pulls out/down on a slide for easy access. They are also commonly used in mounts/ramps that require quick set-ups and fast takedowns. You can simply slide the ramp up and down and then unclip the bayonet hook to remove it.

FAQs:

Why choose bayonet-mounted drawer slides?

If your drawer repeatedly needs to be lifted in and out, you should consider bayonet mounting. It allows for easy disconnection without requiring tools.

Do I need tools to install these slides?

When installing the ladder strip, you will need tools to screw it into the draw mount. Once the ladder strip is securely attached, you will not need any tools to connect the slides to it – they attach with a hook feature.

What frames or cabinets are bayonet slides compatible with?

The ladder strip can be cut to fit into your frame/cabinet, meaning bayonet slides can fit any cabinet height wise. Like with normal slides, you will need to make sure that the slide length is no longer than the drawer.

Can I convert standard slides to bayonet mounting?

No, you cannot convert standard slides.
