Ergonomics refers to products working for people when interactions occur. At Metrol, all our handles have been designed to be ergonomically friendly, so that your hand will naturally fit comfortably around the handle.

When installing a pull handle, you will attach the fixings to the mounting centres. You can then securely screw the handle onto the door/application. Installing a pocket door handle requires the handle to be installed within a panel cutout.

Compatible Products:

Metal cabinets, sliding doors, technology enclosures, lockers, and machinery equipment are just a few examples of applications that use handles.

You can buy Metrol hinges, latches, and locks that have the same material and finish as your chosen handle. This enhances simultaneous functioning among all products for your application, as they will all have the same levels of corrosion resistance, durability, weather resistance and other desired features. Not to mention, if aesthetics is an important factor for you, buying all your hardware components from us will ensure all products look as good as they perform.

Handle Types & Functionality:

Metrol offer both pull and pocket door handles, depending on what functionality and style you require.

Pull handle: A pull handle is a traditional design that allows for someone to grasp onto it and then pull, opening the enclosure.

Pocket Door handle: A pocket door handle is designed to be installed flush with the door/panel surface, making it a much more discreet product. This is a minimalist approach, and it enables the user to simply slide the door open or closed.

Materials:

ABS plastic: This has high resistance to various chemicals and saltwater. It is a light plastic, and it is non-conductive.

Aluminium alloy: This is a low density, strong, and corrosion resistant material that is commonly used in food packaging, automotive, and construction industries. It is durable and very lightweight; this also makes it good for aerospace applications.

Die cast zinc alloy: This is a great option for most mild environments due to its ability to resist corrosion against water and having a melting point of 419.5°C.

Nylon 6 GF30: This is a strong and durable plastic whilst also being a lightweight option. It can resist water (not waterproof) and some mild chemicals.

Stainless steel 304: This is an extremely strong material providing great corrosion resistance in most temperature balanced environments. Not only that, it has an extremely high melting point of over 1400°C and it can resist oxidation.

Steel: This is another durable and strong material we have available for our pull handles. A bright chrome or black textured powder coating can be added to protect and reduce scratches to the material.

Available Colours & Finishes:

  • Black
  • Black powder coated
  • Black textured powder coated
  • Bright chrome
  • Dark grey
  • Polished

The above finishes provide added protection to the product material to prevent scratches, dents, and chipping.

FAQs:

How do I choose the right handle for my application?

First decide whether your application operates in a sliding or pulling function. Generally speaking, if your door pulls open then a pull handle would be best suited, however; if you want a minimal and not bulky option, you could choose a pocket door handle. A pocket door handle can be used for a pull door, although it is most commonly used for sliding doors. There is no right or wrong option, it comes down to personal preference.
